Girls Inc. of Carpinteria is excited to welcome Das Williams, Ashley Smith Fraser, and Danielle Bordenave to its Board of Directors. Effective July 2026, these three accomplished community leaders join the organization at an exciting time as Girls Inc. continues expanding opportunities for girls and strengthening its impact throughout the region.

Each new board member brings a unique combination of professional expertise, community involvement, and a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of girls.

Leadership Rooted in Community

Das Williams currently serves as the Director of Government and Community Relations at Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) and has dedicated much of his career to public service. His experience includes serving as a Santa Barbara County Supervisor, a representative of California’s 37th Assembly District, and a Santa Barbara City Council member.

Williams also holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. As both a Girls Inc. parent and Carpinteria resident, he understands firsthand the positive impact Girls Inc. has on local families.

His background in public policy, community leadership, and environmental stewardship will bring valuable insight to the organization’s continued growth.

A Passion for Family-Centered Care

Ashley Smith Fraser joins the board as a Pediatric Dermatology Nurse Practitioner serving families throughout Ventura and Oxnard. She is also a current board member of the Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners and earned her degree from Johns Hopkins University.

In her medical practice, Ashley believes in supporting the whole child through compassionate, family-centered care—a philosophy that closely aligns with the mission of Girls Inc. of Carpinteria.

As the parent of a Girls Inc. participant, she has experienced the organization’s impact firsthand. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys ceramics, painting, baking, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Indie.

Inspiring Healthy, Active Communities

Danielle Bordenave is the owner of SPARK45, where she helps others live healthier lives through physical therapy, Lagree Fitness, indoor cycling, and senior wellness programs.

Since moving to Carpinteria, Danielle has become deeply involved in the community. She is a founding board member of C-DOG and helped create the beloved CARP Rocks community initiative and the Carp Rock Caterpillar during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Danielle has also been an active supporter of Girls Inc.’s Eureka!® Program, serving as an extern host and providing girls with valuable real-world work experience as they prepare for college and future careers.

Her passion for health, creativity, mentorship, and community engagement makes her a natural addition to the Girls Inc. Board of Directors.

Looking Ahead

Girls Inc. of Carpinteria also extends its sincere gratitude to outgoing board members Angelina Lane, Bianca Vega, and Caroline Alarcon for their years of service and dedication. Their leadership has helped shape the organization and strengthen opportunities for the hundreds of families Girls Inc. serves each year.

Building the Next Chapter

The addition of these new board members comes as Girls Inc. launches its new three-year strategic plan, focused on expanding its reach and doubling its impact by bringing its proven, girl-centered programming to Ventura County.

Building on decades of success in Carpinteria, the organization is committed to increasing access to programs that support girls’ social, emotional, academic, and leadership development, particularly in underserved communities. Through mentorship, safe spaces, research-informed programming, and meaningful opportunities for growth, Girls Inc. continues to empower girls to build confidence, succeed in school, and reach their full potential.
