Watch Her Rise: A Night of Impact, Community, and Possibility

On March 7, the Girls Inc. of Carpinteria campus came alive with energy, connection, and purpose as hundreds of community members gathered for the 2026 Watch Her Rise Gala — an evening dedicated to investing in the future of local girls.

From the moment guests arrived for the VIP hour through a night filled with shared stories, celebration, and generosity, the message was clear: when a community comes together, the impact reaches far beyond a single evening.

An Evening Rooted in Purpose

The Watch Her Rise Gala is more than an annual event — it is a reflection of what becomes possible when girls are supported, encouraged, and given the tools to grow into who they are meant to be.

At Girls Inc. of Carpinteria, girls are encouraged, motivated, and pushed beyond their comfort zones in a pro-girl environment supported by research-based curriculum. Throughout the evening, guests experienced the full scope of that impact — from meaningful conversations to powerful moments on stage — all grounded in a shared belief in the potential of every girl.

A Community That Shows Up

This year’s gala welcomed over 240 attendees and raised approximately $175,000 in support of Girls Inc.’s year-round programming and commitment to equitable access.

These funds directly support programs that span:

  • STEM and academic enrichment
  • Mental health and wellness
  • Leadership development and advocacy
  • College and career readiness

Each contribution helps ensure that girls have access to the tools, resources, and support systems that allow them to grow with confidence and purpose.

Honoring Leadership and Legacy

A special moment of the evening was dedicated to honoring Paul and Cheryl Wright, whose longstanding commitment to youth and community has left a lasting impact in Carpinteria.

Through their leadership, service, and advocacy, the Wrights have championed opportunities for young people and strengthened the fabric of the local community. Their recognition served as a powerful reminder that meaningful change is built through consistent, community-driven support.

Voices That Define the Mission

At the heart of the evening were the voices of Girls Inc. participants, whose stories brought the mission to life in a deeply personal way.

Junior honorees Maya Cooper, Sonia Marquez Miranda, and Valeria Pulido took the stage to share their experiences — reflecting on the confidence, leadership, and sense of belonging they have developed through Girls Inc.

Their words served as a powerful reminder of why this work matters. Not just in theory, but in real, lived experiences that shape how girls see themselves and their future.

A Collective Effort

The success of Watch Her Rise is made possible by an incredible network of supporters, sponsors, and partners.

Special recognition goes to Lynda Fairly, Legacy Leader Sponsor, along with the many Empower, Inspire, and Advocate sponsors who contributed to the evening’s success. From local businesses to community leaders and individual donors, each played a role in making the night possible.

The event was further brought to life by dedicated partners, including Omni Catering, DJ Darla Bea, Courtney Rainwater, and the many vendors and contributors who helped create a memorable and meaningful experience.

More Than a Moment

While the evening itself was a celebration, its impact continues long after the final guest leaves.

Every dollar raised supports safe, supportive spaces where girls can learn, explore, and grow. It fuels programs that build confidence, expand opportunities, and create pathways for the future.

Because this work is not about a single moment — it is about long-term impact.

Looking Ahead

As Girls Inc. of Carpinteria continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact, the gala stands as a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses to show up.

Together, we are not just supporting girls —

We are investing in their future.

And every day, we continue to watch her rise.
